We try to blend the quarry into the features of the local landscape. We will always endeavour to put the land back better than we found it.

The road is above the peat now. That's the ammount they have taken off.They try to replace it but they can't can they? It's well below the road.

Rare habitats

A back garden cannot replace the kinds of habitats we find on lowland raised bog. Extracting peat for horticulture is very damaging. The moors will not rejuvenate for a very long time.

People will and do perceive quarrying as a destructive element but it can be quite the opposite. It can be very constructive in creating biodiversity. It's destructive and constructive.

Peat for gardening

Peat has been used for many things over the years. Removing peat from one area to share amongst others can be positive. People can enjoy wildlife in their gardens. Many back yards are home to a rich variety of wildlife.


peat or woodland

What's the reasoning in destroying one rare habitat to try and produce another. Why not leave nature to make the decisions?
